"What will become of man? Will he be like God or will he be like the beasts of the field? What an appalling separation there is between the two! What will we become then? Who does not realize that man has wandered astray, that he has fallen from his rightful place, and that he is searching his way back anxiously, and yet he cannot find it? Who will show him the way? The greatest men have failed to do so."
-Blaise Pascal

Wow, I never realized Pascal had the same overblown feel as Nietzsche. But while looking for an example, I found this isntead :P

"As soon as a religion comes to dominate it has as its opponents all those who would have been its first disciples."

"Christianity came into existence in order to lighten the heart; but now it has first to burden the heart so as afterwards to be able to lighten it. Consequently it shall perish."

Haha, I'm also finding out that Nietzsche isn't usually all that overblown. I wonder if he was imitating Pascal on purpose in the quote on the death of God for that matter. :P I can't find it at the moment, I'm lazy, and I know you've seen it, so YOU find it!

You mean The Madman? (which is the story in which Nietzsche says God is dead) :p
